2007 Business Plan
Goal:
To become a highly respected and notable motorcycle club that other organizations
admire, and the community seeks for our participation/involvement as a charitable organization, through the 3 strategies listed
below.
Strategies:
Buffalo Soldiers of Sacramento M/C (BSMC of Sacramento) will implement three
strategies to achieve our goal:
- Demonstrate and promote safe
individual and group riding experiences
- Educate ourselves and others
about the history and contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers.
- Support the charitable needs
of the community in the local and Western Frontier/Region.
Tactics:
Demonstrate and promote safe individual and group riding experiences
Riding Lead (To be assigned to individual)
- Participate in monthly group
rides with club members on meeting days
- Seek constructive feedback
about your riding performance during refueling or refreshment stops.
- Remind riders about key riding
techniques at the beginning of each planned ride.
- Review riding technique articles
from videos and magazines
- Post safety related riding
skills articles on the BSMC of Sacramento website
- Participate in rides/runs
sponsored by other organizations.
- Take photos of the ride and
events that we participate and post them on the website
- Establish a Safety Officer
- Develop a sub-committee to
develop a list of rides for the club to participate
Educate others about the history and contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers
History Lead (To be assigned to individual)
- Review articles regarding
the Buffalo Soldiers during each meeting
- Establish a history section
to the BSMC of Sacramento website with links to other Buffalo Soldier historical sites
- Coordinate historical training
for club members with park ranger from Yosemite
- Visit key Buffalo Soldiers
sites in Northern California and Arizona (e.g., Yosemite,
Allensworth, The Presidio, etc.). Post photos of our visits on our website.
- Publish a comprehensive list
of Buffalo Soldier related books, magazines, and articles, to be posted on our website.
- Develop a brief presentation
(2 pages max) that highlights the key accomplishments of the Buffalo Soldiers that can be distributed to the public and schools.
- Support the charitable needs
of the community in the local and Western Frontier/Region
Charity Lead (To be assigned to individual)
- Participate in rides/runs
that support key charities (e.g., Cancer society, Diabetes, police officers, etc.)
- Select a max of 3 local charities
that the BSMC of Sacramento will commit their time and money during the year (refer to charity list available from Sonny)
- Increase dues to support member
participation to charitable activities (e.g., runs, direct monetary donations to charities)
- Maintain mileage and financial
records for members to use for charitable contributions state and federal tax purposes.
- Evaluate direct requests from
charitable organizations and make recommendations to the club members
- Coordinate with other established
and respected motorcycle clubs to sponsor a charitable event.
- Post photos of our participation
in charitable events and post on our website
Buffalo Soldier
Paraphernalia
- Find the vendor who makes
the gold shirts so we can purchase the shirts from the vendor directly.
- Get set up locally where we
can have our shirts and hats printed, whereas BSMCS will have Buffalo Soldier apparel such as shirts, hats, bumper stickers,
pens, decals etc. etc. on hand for purchase for interested individuals and or other Buffalo Soldier clubs who may be interested
in purchasing Buffalo Soldier gear.
- Update our website to reflect
the Buffalo Soldier Paraphernalia we have available for purchase, create a Buffalo Soldier News Letter which will capture
current and past events which can also be viewed on our website.
